Hello James, what inspired you to pursue a career in acting, and how did you get your start in the industry?

The art of creation. Watching Back to The Future on the big screen as a kid. It’s characters, its story, the fantasy of time travel. It’s beautiful.

What do you consider to be your biggest career accomplishment so far, and why?

I always believe my best is yet to come. It’s all about the journey & the pursuit thereof. I am proud of the work I have done but I am excited by what’s still to come.

What’s your process for preparing for a new role, and how do you get into character?

I do as much homework as possible on the character and the story. I like to meet people who have had the same or similar experiences. It helps to put oneself in the proper mindset. I get to know my character on an internal level and become one with its thought process. And then I just eat, sleep, study & repeat.

How do you balance your personal life with the demands of being an actor, particularly when it comes to traveling and long hours on set?

Balance can be challenging. Having an understanding and supportive family has been a major help. You also have to understand your going to miss out on key things in life sometimes. When you are home it’s very important to make quality time for yourself and your family and friends. Kind of a mental health reset.

How do you handle criticism and negative reviews, and what do you do to stay motivated when facing rejection or setbacks?

I am always open to criticism if it’s positive in nature. The negative will always be there. It’s really none of my business. What I mean is I can’t control

people’s negative thoughts, so why even entertain them. I use every setback as a stepping stone on my way back up the ladder. It’s a constant climb, but a worthwhile journey.

Who are some of your biggest influences in the acting world, and why do they inspire you?

Answer: Humphrey Bogart, Michael Keaton, Michael J. Fox, James Spader, Jimmy Stewart, Bruce Willis & Jack Nicholson to name a few. They have this undeniable, intoxicating body language on camera. It’s their uncanny ability to sell a scene with a simple look or the tilt of a head. Proving that dialogue is only part of an actor’s arsenal.

What advice would you give to aspiring actors who are just starting out in the industry?

Make sure you want it. Be ready to sacrifice. Stay Positive. Embrace the falls and learn from them. Repetition is key as it is in anything in life. Networking is crucial. Get on as many sets as possible & listen. Take workshops and continue to fine tune your skills. Always be on time. And by on time I mean early. No is a word you’ll hear a lot. It’s translated to not right not but keep knocking on that door.

What are your thoughts on the current state of the film and television industry, and where do you see it heading in the future?

believe the industry has never had more opportunities. So many opportunities for the independent artist to succeed. With the arrival of a multitude of streaming networks your work is literally at the worlds finger tips. Hollywood will always be there and thrive, but the independents continue to rise.

What are some of your upcoming projects, and what can fans expect from you in the near future?

My upcoming projects include STRANGE ANGELS, the series based on the Ernest Keegan novel Strange Angels. Also, we anticipate the feature film version of the multi time award winning film THE 12th LETTER based off the Jackie Hovorka novel The 12th Letter. You can expect me to work harder than ever with many great films coming! Thank you all for your continued support.
