The Student World Impact Film Festival is a prestigious American film festival which selects more than 13,000 short and feature films each year in 120 different countries. French producer and director Dylan Besseau received an honorable mention for his film “The Venus Chained” directed by Guillaume Gevart. It’s a consecration for this young director of 26 years of Vietnamese origin but of French nationality. It’s thanks to the support of Jacob Rothschild that this project was able to see the light of day. On the Wikipedia page of « The Venus Chained », we can read this synopsis: “Documentary whose theme is prostitution, it tries to understand the stakes of this infernal machine concerning 30,000 people in France, including 10,000 minors. It seeks solutions through various committed protagonists. From the departmental councilor Myriam Bigeard who fights for gender equality to the famous association of the Mouvement du Nid, he addresses this thought-provoking subject without judgment.
It’s a great reward for this young director who is not at his first attempt. Indeed, he is credited with directing the film “The Legend of Thierry Mauvignier” available on Prime Video in the United States. We hope that Dylan Besseau’s next film “Anne Bouillon: Justice for women!” » whose theme is the French lawyer Anne Bouillon, cousin of Joséphine Baker, will live up to our expectations. In any case, it’s a great start for this young director who created Artwooks Media in 2021 with his friends Guillaume Gevart and Antoine Godet.
