WorldIDF: Thousands of Hamas weapons captured in Gaza fighting

Israel has struck more than 15,000 targets inside the Gaza Strip and seized over 6,000 weapons since it declared war against Hamas following the terror group’s Oct. 7 rampage into southern Israel, where they killed more than 1,400 people, mostly civilians, and took hundreds of hostages.

The cache of confiscated weapons used by Hamas militants includes anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles, rockets, mortars and explosives, Israel Defense Forces officials said Friday on their Telegram messaging page.

“In recent days, combined IDF forces have continued to strike numerous terror targets in the Gaza Strip, including operation command centers, terror and rocket infrastructure, weapons and logistics depots, launch posts, terror tunnels (and) numerous Hamas terrorists — as well as command, control and intelligence targets,” the IDF said.

Soldiers inside Gaza also are coordinating joint attacks with the Israeli air force and navy, officials said.

The IDF’s strategy has effectively cut the Gaza Strip in two, with the heaviest operations concentrated in the north as thousands of Palestinians move south on foot to avoid the fighting.

The Hamas-run Gazan Health Ministry claims that more than 10,000 people have been killed by the IDF, although those numbers haven’t been independently verified and don’t distinguish between civilians and Hamas casualties.
