Pro-Palestinian protesters arrested after disrupting Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

New York City police said they arrested several pro-Palestinian protesters Thursday after the demonstrators briefly interrupted the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Authorities took a number of people into custody around 10 a.m. on Sixth Avenue and West 45th Street in Manhattan after the demonstrators jumped a barricade and ran in front of a float for the Sinclair Oil Corporation.

The protesters were wearing white jumpsuits with fake blood splattered on them, according to New York TV station WABC.

The jumpsuits had words like “colonialism” and “consumerism” on them, and the protesters chanted “liberation for Palestine and planet” during the demonstration.

According to posted videos, spectators began booing the protesters once they realized what was happening.
