That is one other wonderful center grade novel about MMIWG, although I might put it at a better studying stage than Purple Chook Danced. It offers with a number of very heavy, disturbing matters. Wren’s mom has been lacking for 5 years, since Wren was seven. She lives along with her police chief father (white) and grandmother (Cherokee), Wren’s mom’s mom. Wren is obsessive about discovering her mom and retains observe of MMIWG info. She even sneaks by her father’s work recordsdata for clues he’s not telling them. When she’s not doing that, she volunteers at an animal shelter. When she discovers a canine that’s been shot and hears about comparable animal cruelty incidents, she decides to research with a pal from college, who’s being abused by his dad.
