The widow of former Vancouver police Officer Donald Sahota has filed a federal wrongful dying lawsuit alleging Clark County did not correctly prepare the “trigger happy” sheriff’s deputy who mistakenly shot her husband in 2022 and that the taking pictures was unreasonable and reckless.

The lawsuit, filed by Dawnese Sahota on Jan. 22 in U.S. District Court docket in Tacoma, alleges negligence, extreme power, depravation of familial relationships and failure to coach. The swimsuit seeks unspecified damages to be decided at trial.

On Jan. 29, 2022, legislation enforcement officers from a number of companies had chased the suspect in an armed theft at an Orchards fuel station, Julio Segura, to the world of the Sahotas’ Battle Floor residence. Segura, 23, stabbed Donald Sahota, 52, as the 2 struggled in Sahota’s driveway. Moments later, Clark County sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Feller arrived and mistakenly shot Donald Sahota.
