Southwest Airways is eliminating 1,750 jobs, or 15% of its company workforce, within the first main layoffs within the firm’s 53-year historical past.
The Dallas-based airline mentioned Monday that the job cuts can be targeted virtually fully on “corporate overhead and leadership positions,” together with senior management and administrators. Eleven senior management positions, representing 15% of the corporate’s senior administration committee, are being eradicated.
