BELLEVUE — Gabriella Howard and Carly Christ have been happy with how they every competed Saturday on the 4A state gymnastics meet.

However extra importantly, they have been happy with one another.

The Union teammates positioned second and third on the vault and Christ added a third-place end on the bars because the Titans capped their season.

“I was very proud of her; she did good,” Christ mentioned. “I’m very proud of myself too. I thought I did pretty good.”

“And I’m very proud of Carly,” Howard added.

Howard scored 9.475 to complete second behind Rylee Evans of Puyallup (9.550), and Christ adopted in third at 9.400.

Christ, who completed fourth within the all-around on Friday, additionally positioned in a three-way tie for third on the uneven bars with Addi Reynolds of Auburn and Dezlyn Ludquist of Mead at 9.250.

“I thought today went great,” Christ mentioned. “I’m very proud of all the things I did. I did everything I came out here to do.”

Camas’ Sneha Shankar was the opposite native gymnast to achieve the rostrum on Saturday, putting sixth within the vault at 9.250.

Saturday’s meet capped the highschool gymnastics season that noticed the Union workforce draw nearer collectively like a household, Christ mentioned.

“This is my first year doing high school (gymnastics), so it was really nice,” Howard mentioned. “It’s a very fun community that we have. And they’re kind of like my sisters now.”
