The Camas/Washougal Crushers gained their first sport in bracket play Wednesday on the 14-under Babe Ruth World Sequence.
The Crushers beat Mickey Owen Baseball College 11-0 to advance to the semifinals of the event in Scorching Springs, Arkansas. Camas/Washougal will face both Hilo, Hawaii or Tallahassee, Florida on Friday for a berth in Saturday’s championship sport.
The Crushers had been amongst 9 groups to achieve the championship bracket after going 3-1 in pool play.
Nash McCarthy allowed simply 4 hits over 5 innings, putting out 5 and strolling one.
Camas/Washougal tallied 16 hits, together with three every for Issac Thoune and Thomas Eckman.
Hudson Shaw, Holden Hille, and Thoune every drove in two runs.
