Ashanti is all for a John Tucker Should Die sequel.

The singer and actress revealed to Folks journal in an interview printed March 9 that she’s been texting her former co-star Arielle Kebbel about making it occur.

“Arielle, she texts me! We’ve been going back and forth a little bit,” Ashanti shared. “She told me that she had the idea and I was like, ‘Listen, if we can get it together, I’m down.’”

The 2006 teen comedy adopted three ladies — performed by Ashanti, Kebbel, and Sophia Bush — who workforce as much as take down the college’s greatest participant, John Tucker, performed by Jesse Metcalfe.

Brittany Snow’s character joins the revenge plot, serving to the trio educate Tucker a lesson.

Practically 20 years later, Ashanti thinks a follow-up might be simply as enjoyable. “It would be hilarious to have a part two,” she advised Folks.

Discuss of a sequel resurfaced in 2024 throughout an Epic Cons Chicago panel that includes Metcalfe, Bush, and Kebbel.

Metcalfe even teased {that a} script exists, calling it “amazing” and saying, “I’d definitely love to be a part of it.”

Kebbel added that the rumoured sequel “does involve all of the OG cast” and hinted at a doable redemption arc for John Tucker.

Whereas nothing is official but, Ashanti is preserving busy. As a brand new mother, she’s gearing up for a number of joint excursions this summer season and already planning for further fingers to assist together with her child with Nelly.
