‘Ready for this second my complete life,’ says Jennifer Lopez of her performing gig in ‘The Kiss of Spider Lady’
Jennifer Lopez was overcome with feelings as her childhood dream got here to life, due to Invoice Condon.
Her titular position in The Kiss of Spider Lady in Condon’s new movie adaptation of the Tony-winning musical has fulfilled the singer and actress’s childhood dream of starring in a musical.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” the On the Flooring hitmaker shared on the movie’s 2025 Sundance Movie Pageant premiere.
Reflecting on her childhood, Lopez recounted how her mom would sit her down yearly to observe West Aspect Story, airing solely every year on Thanksgiving.
“And I was just mesmerised, and I was like, ‘That’s what I want to do,'” she recalled.
“That was always my goal,” Lopez continued, preventing again tears. “And this is the first time I actually got to do it, so it’s a big deal. [Bill Condon] made my dream come true.”
Taking over a job originated by Chita Rivera and reflecting on the unique forged of the musical, Lopez expressed that it is “an honour to be able to be part of this movie.”
On the Sunday premiere of her first musical film, Lopez, 55, donned a surprising spiderweb robe, making a style assertion as she graced the crimson carpet.
