Jon Hamm remembers being ‘very, very scared’ of internet hosting ‘SNL’ first time
Jon Hamm calls the expertise of internet hosting the Saturday Night time Dwell for the primary time a “roller coaster ride”.
The Mad Males alum recounted the primary time he hosted Saturday Night time Dwell and reminisced how he was “very, very scared.”
Previously, the actor has hosted SNL thrice, and through a dialog on The Tonight Present, he obtained candid on the expertise of internet hosting the late-night sketch present.
“I remember being very, very scared up until about 10 seconds before you go out the door,” Hamm advised host Jimmy Fallon, who’s a SNL alum himself.
“And [stage manager] Gena Rositano’s back there counting you down, screaming in your ear, and you’re looking at a tiny screen, and your back is up against the wall, and you have to walk down the steps. ‘Don’t trip,’ that’s all I was thinking about.”
Hamm, who debuted as SNL visitor host on October 25, 2008, added, “At a certain point, literally as the band is playing, and it’s so loud, and you can’t hear anything, and Gena’s like, ‘5, 4 … ‘ and I go, ‘Oh wait, it’s a ride. It’s a roller coaster ride. You just have to hold on and not fall out of the car.’”
The actor additionally remarked how he thought he can be simply positive, realising how the present glided by so quick.
“It was the greatest 90 minutes of your life,” he exclaimed.
