The Camas baseball workforce began Could by locking up one other 4A Larger St. Helens League title.

“We knew we were going to play great competition down there,” junior Charlie Barr stated. “So it was going to be good for us. We went 3-1 down there. We dominated, and we wanted to bring that energy here.”

“(We had) so much fun,” senior Matt Manjooran stated. “It was a great team bonding experience, so I think we’re a lot tighter. And we’re in this for each other now.”

However coach Stephen Quick stated there was one other profit past good competitors and camaraderie.

“And when you spend all that time together, you build those bonds with each other, and that kind of carries into league play. These (league) games are intense, and I think trips like that, that camaraderie, helps you stick together in moments of crisis.”

Hail to the league champions

With league play winding down in baseball, softball and boys soccer, a number of groups clinched league titles final week.

The Camas boys baseball workforce swept Skyview to earn the 4A Larger St. Helens League title, with a bit of assist from runner-up Battle Floor.
The Prairie baseball workforce swept Kelso, together with a mixed no-hitter by Michael Rovig and Maddux Blunt in a 1-0 win Tuesday, to win the 3A Larger St. Helens League title.
The Heritage boys soccer workforce clinched the 3A GSHL title with a 3-0 win over Prairie on Wednesday.
Columbia River clinched the 2A GSHL boys soccer title with a 3-1 win over R.A. Lengthy and completed league play with 13 straight wins by beating Washougal 8-0.
The Mark Morris softball workforce ran its total file to 17-0 and clinched the 2A GSHL title with an 18-4 win over Washougal.
The Seton Catholic softball workforce wrapped up the Trico League title by enhancing to 12-0 with a 15-3 win over Fort Rock.

Milhorn continues to dominate

The scoreless and hitless pitching streak of Skyview senior Maddie Milhorn continues.

The senior pitched 10.1 innings final week, permitting no hits, no runs whereas hanging out 25.

Her consecutive scoreless innings streak has now stretched to 50.1, courting again to March 24. She has 121 strikeouts over that stretch.

Her consecutive hitless innings streak has now reached 31.1 innings, courting again to April 11.
