The Ridgefield boys basketball staff kicked off its season with a rally and a highway win.
The Spudders overcame an 11-point deficit within the fourth quarter to beat La Heart 64-62 on Wednesday.
Down 58-47 with 6:39 to play, Ridgefield took a 63-62 lead on Jack Hughes’ layup with 1:03 left.
Hughes then blocked a possible game-tying shot inside the ultimate 10 seconds.
Jamison McCann scored 30 factors, together with 15 of Ridgefield’s 17 factors within the third quarter.
Logan Rainey hit 5 3-pointers and scored 34 factors for La Heart (0-1).

ADNA 65, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 27 — Karsyn Freeman scored 26 factors and the Pirates, who positioned fifth in final yr’s Class 2B state event, rolled to a win.
Bridgett Quinn had 12 factors and eight rebounds for the Knights. Addison Bagley added eight factors and 10 rebounds.
