Vancouver college board members voted to rename two elementary faculties at their Tuesday assembly, citing the violent histories of their namesakes.
Beginning subsequent college 12 months, Harney Elementary (named after Gen. William S. Harney, former commander of Vancouver Barracks) will probably be known as Edgewood Elementary, and Peter S. Ogden Elementary (named after the Canadian fur dealer) will drop the “Peter S.”
