KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip — Winter is hitting the Gaza Strip, and most of the practically 2 million Palestinians displaced by the devastating 14-month warfare with Israel are struggling to guard themselves from the wind, chilly and rain.

There’s a scarcity of blankets and heat clothes, wooden for fires is scarce, and the tents and patched-together tarps households reside in have grown more and more threadbare after months of heavy use, in keeping with support employees and residents.
